I'm hoping that my fellow v-flyers might be able to give a plain English summary of what the likely level of refund would be if I need to cancel some flights.

It's safe to say Mrs rdm isn't particularly impressed that my work's gone pear-shaped enough that my CEO has suggested that I might have to cancel my planned fortnight in Jamaica, but at least the boss has said that the company will cover all costs if the cancellation becomes a reality.

I've currently got 2 G's for the outbound (miles upgrade from Economy) and 2 Z's for the return. In terms of notice, I'll probably find that it's less than 48 hours from the outbound scheduled departure.

Thanks in advance

You would get 75% of your miles back, and your taxes, the rest you lose.

You can't even try and change the dates, as Z is your most restrictive fare code, which therefore covers both legs, and Z's are now not changeable at all, even for a fee.

What a horrible situation only slightly ameliorated by the firm agreeing to pay the costs

You will get the taxes and airport fees back (but but not the fuel surcharge) less an admin fee.

Re the miles you loose the lot due to the short notice (less than 7 days) period you give. More than 7 days and you get 75% of the miles back.

Thanks for the advice on this.

After two & a half weeks of further stress (and keeping out of the CEO's eyeline today ): just in case he had a late change of mind) I'll fortunately be attempting to bag SEQ 1 & 2 tomorrow morning.

Needless to say I'm back in the good books with Mrs rdm (even though she's barely seen me for a fortnight) and I'm just hoping the next two weeks on the beach are just as long as the last two have been!!! ^) ^) ^)

Hope all goes to plan in getting SEQ 1 & 2, but don't let it stop you having a relaxing break - you obviously need it :D
