Just got back from St Lucia so here is my first of two TRs.

We got to the airport nice and early as we were booked into the V Room. I had bagged four seats in the bubble at the 90 day mark and had checked in online the night before. No queue at the airport to do the bag drop and the VRoom was very quiet. Our two kids (7 & 4) loved it. Loads of food and table football kept them very quiet indeed.

We were called to the plane and sat on the Tarmac for just under an hour as they were de-icing the plane. No big problem. The PE seats in the bubble were great. Loads of space and the nice big aisle between the seats meant you could wander round and still not get in the way if the trolley was there. It looked quite cramped in the PE section downstairs in comparison. There was no issue with the economy seats at the back apart from the toilets getting quite busy after meals/drinks so the people sat at the front would have people loitering round them.

Once we got in the air the crew did a drink and food round and then disappeared. It strikes me that with charging for alcohol in the V Room and giving out the minimum on the flight, they are either paranoid about people drinking too much or trying to keep costs down. When we did walk to the galley at the back, they seemed a little too busy chatting and we were more of a hindrance. The elusive crew appeared again towards the end to dish out sandwiches that apparently had cheese and onion in....

I did make a mistake with the kids meals as I had not chosen a kiddies meal for them. To be honest when I booked my wife a vegetarian meal, there was no option for choosing one for the children on the VA manage your booking site. They picked their way through the lasagne. And what on earth is that 'ice cream' they hand out? Truly awful

I have to say that the Vera on demand system was great. It made the time fly past and the kids loved sending messages to each other.

8 and a half hours later we landed in 30 degree heat in St Lucia and spent 10 days enjoying the food and cocktails.

Thank you for your TR. We had a similar experience in December traveling to Cancun, very poor service on the outbound but a very good crew on the return.
