Ha ha, you have come to the right place.

First off, how did you get the P class - companion ticket, full PE reward booking, upgrade from a flexible economy ticket or reward booking in economy upgraded with an amex voucher?

Two of those options are not eligible for further upgrade to UC, choose wisely ;)

It is not just UC seats you want it is a specific fare class, G which as any will tell you can be rarer than a striking gold in your back garden on the LGW routes.

You can call or do a dummy UC miles booking on the VS website to see if there are any miles seats available.

I imagine it will be unlikely but worth a try and keep checking even at the airport as it can change.

To be able to use miles to upgrade, there needs to be a full miles seat available, so just try and book an upper reward fare (fare using miles) for the dates you want to fly. ( and you also need the correct fare class to upgrade from )

If they show availability, the easiest way to do it is to phone flying club and they will fix you up.

There are other opportunities to upgrade but they require even more luck.

Ok, jumping ahead :P

Load check for Thursday kicked out 4 seats available in UC, 0 in PE and 9+ in Eco.

Huh, and a dummy booking states that there are G fares available.... better get on the phone now!!!

Oddly generous of VS :? Hope it isn't another site glitch.

Errr ok, sounds like a reward redemption in Eco (in a sale) with a PE upgrade voucher from Amex.... technically not possible to go up another cabin I'm afraid, but give them a call and give it a pop.

Good luck 8D

well the G is available now... give them a call and try to nab it :P

If the agent says no today, def try at the airport on thursday as sometimes they just look at the fare code and not how you got it :P :P

I just looked and there is availability on Thursday in UC to Vegas. Don't hang around - call the Upper Class line and see if you can nab that seat! If your P fare is an upgraded economy fare (but not an Amex upgrade) or a full reward fare, you will be able to upgrade, provided you have enough miles. Good luck!

EDIT too slow typing all that! Doh. :D
