Normally I have a little game of "Guess the height" as we landing.
Now I will know how far out I was :D :D

Did not work so well on VS24 yesterday as they collected the headphones 30 minutes before landing. How does that translate to gate to gate ?

They are only supposed to collect the headphones from those pax who don't want to use them anymore. The cleaners collect them now from the seats.

No attempt was made to collect our headphones on VS26, and an announcement was made asking us to leave them on our seats as we left the aircraft.

Used it recently on a NY return but on the VS46 found seat 30A on Tinker Belle had something jammed in the headphone socket. the FSM said there has been a bit of that since gate to gate IFE was introduced as people get up more with the headphones on the and plug breaks off in the socket. I was surprised to hear that gate to gate IFE would do that. Wasn't a big issue as I slept most of the way anyway.

My only criticism on the VS10 the other night are the amount of announcements made. I'm unsure why they can't say everything they need to say straight after the safety video. I also think they need to work on the placement of their charity video. Seemed a bit bizarre playing it 20 minutes before landing.

You're always going to have a shower of announcements between the safety video and the time when things settle down and the main service starts. Can't really avoid that. This means IFE will be a bit start/stop to begin with, even if available. It is a pity it's not turned on at the gate, some airlines do do it this way and if I board early I can get through half the movie by the time I'm done with my drinks and we're ready to go with the safety video :)

Still a major improvement over what VS did before.

It was turned off on the VS29 on Sunday, about 15 minutes before landing. Replaced by music and a medley of music. After they had announced the gate to gate thing a couple of times during the flight there were a few confused people pressing the screens.

And I missed the last 10 minutes of Vegas! v(
