LGW Clubhouse

Its been a while since I used the LGW clubhouse, are ther showers avalable ? (I am getting the sleeper train form Glasgow and will use the Clubhouse rather than the Euston 1st Class lounge if showers are avalable)

Just to confirm, whilst the Clubhouse underwent a major refurbishment, the toilets and showers are exactly the same as before

Always favour the LGW clubhouse (drinks, food, shoe shine) over the Virgin trains first class lounge (hot drinks, biscuits and thats it).

BTW, I've found best way to Gatwick from Euston is to walk to St Pancras and get the train direct to LGW, avoiding underground and gatwick express. 10 minute walk, 45 mins train.

Got first class in it too, just one end, but handy if going through around rush hour. First class return is 30 quid, nearly half the than first class return on the gatwick express...

Strangely enough, unlike the heathrow express, the normal southern service doesn't seem to be that much slower than the gatwick express.

:0. I have been lugging suitcases from Kings X (which I have been well aware for an eternity is connected to St Pancras) down onto Underground to Victoria and onto Gatwick Express ! Just booked the 1st class rtn ticket for £30 which is even cheaper than the standard GE open rtn! V-flyer knowledge rocks. |:) oo)

The Thameslink line's been open 25 years now - sounds like some serious marketing is needed!

The good news is it's currently being upgraded to allow direct trains to run from Gatwick to places on the Great Northern line like Welwyn, Stevenage, Cambridge and Peterborough.
