A some of you will know I ended up hopping to T4 from T3 a couple of weeks ago in my quest for my new bag .
After the store ( Mulberry) not being very helpful regarding the bag I was after ( we're sold out.... :(! ) I returned about an hour later ( tempted to buy an alternative bag) where the staff had changed slightly. The new lady was amazingly helpful ( unlike her colleague had been) and when I recounted my plight she glared at her colleague and said "why don't we try the store at T4" ( I'd asked she ring them when I was there earlier but she was adamant they had no stock either....)? To cut a long story short the less than helpful colleage picked up the phone and rang the T4 store - sure enough they had the bag I'd been coveting. Still a bit bemused ( but thrilled they had the bag that gumshoe had kindly priced for me a few days previously) I asked how I'd get it from T4. With that she scooted out into the shopping mall ( because that's what the bulk of T3 is) and grabbed a man in a purple jacket explaining that I needed to go to the T4 Mulberry store pronto. He established that I had plenty of time before my flight departed, however I had a "proper" massage booked for about an hour later and quickly ran back to the CH to see if I could move it back a bit ( no problem they said y) ). I bid a hasty goodbye to Mr DL ( who thought I was crazy) and hot footed it back downstairs.
My lovely chap was still stood where I'd left him and had been joined by another equally lovely chap who told me that he'd be taking me over to T4 , so off we set. He reckoned we'd be about 40 mins using the flight connections bus to T4 and back.
The journey over was a doddle - we waited about 5 minutes for a bus and the journey itself took about 8 ( via the tunnel) . The only glitch was that when we arrived there was a massive queue for security ( which you have to go through) and there's no fast track for connections arriving at T4 v( . That little debacle took over 30 mins and made me realise just how spoiled I've become ( and how many idiots don't undersand the need to comply with the shouts of " take everything out of your pockets , remove your belts, no liquids over 100mls etc etc etc). Anyhow my lovely chap ( who'd bypassed the heaving throng ) was waiting patiently for me and as soon as I was through escorted me promptly to the store.
They had a huge ammout of stock, so much so that I suggested they send some over to T3 :0 .
Anyhow several of the same bag were inspected ( the assistant had them waiting for me) I chose the one I wanted, paid for it and we returned the way we'd come back on the connections bus.
T3 however does have a priority lane for connections and I was through in literally 10 seconds and back in the CH about 3 minutes after that :D .
On the way over Chap #2 had asked if I was familiar with
http://boutique.heathrow.com/. Well, no I wasn't actually!. He advised that had they been contacted via the site that they could have actually sourced the bag pre - arrival ( with no obligation to purchase if I wasn't happy).
He also advised that some of the staff are trained stylists like himself ( it transpired he was one of the management team) and also offer a personalised shopping service by request.
Anyway hope that's been useful - I certainly wasn't aware of the website ( or the ability to terminal hop ) but will no doubt be making use of both it in future ): .

Now that sounds like civilised shopping - apart from the security queue - thanks for the link and info.

That's great DL
Glad you could get the "bag"
I tried to contact a shop in T3 recently and they never answered so I bought the camera in Tokyo - probably definitely got a better deal there but had the shop in T3 answered I may have been tempted to buy it there

On "Airport" on the BBC many years ago, they showed episodes with a personal shopper in T3 - a French lady called Corinne who seemed to stalk the customers if they so much as glanced at an item and on a couple of occasions was seen going from one terminal to another (pre T4 days so just to T1or T2).

I've never seen her there myself and I wondered if the service still existed. Apparently it's still alive and well! ):

Thanks for the info, will defo checkout the Boutique.
?| Just one thing, why on discovering they had the bag in their other 'shop' could they not have just got an assistant to bring it over to you? One would assume you were paying a substantial sum for your bag surely that would have been easier

"Not possible" - I did ask the helpful lady ( yes, it would have been much easier for me !).
And the bag was a ( relative) bargain (not that Mr DL would agree lol) ): .

I love this thread :D

My darling husband has said next time we travel though T3 which granted may not be for a while yet I can get the Mulberry I've had my eye on for some time but he reckons the chances of it being available are slim. Until now....

I am going to bookmark that site and your thread here oo)

Husband may be in for a shock :0 ):
