VA Flying Club Miles on ANZ

Hi, could anyone advise me if I will be able to use VA miles to buy an upgrade on an ANZ code share booking please, VA is the SF to LHW leg. I wanted to use the Sydney - UK route but VA are cancelling this before the departure date I was considering. Thank you for your help.

Are you meaning VS: virgin Atlantic and not VA virgin Australia? Just for clarity.

My experience with using Virgin (Atlantic) miles on ANZ is that it's certainly possible to book economy seats, but any award seats in higher classes are rarer than rocking horse excretia

Just to be clear, you are flying SFO to LHR on a VS-operated flight ticketed as an ANZ code share, and you want to upgrade using VS miles?
