Saw G-VSXY fly overhead yesterday whilst waiting for the bus to T1. Noticed that this one now has the updated metallic tail. I checked the database and theres no mention of it going up to MAN for work, so any ideas as to where/when it was done?

Managed to get a (poor) pic:

So does that mean there are a333's with different tails then ? That's surprising given their young age

Unless it's me, nor can I. Must admit I do not study the VS 330 tails but they all look the same. :|
I am sure some V-Flyer expert in this field will tell us all there is to know about VS 333 tails.........

G-VSXY and G-VKSS were both painted in the new livery but with the old style virgin red on the tail as the candy apple paint hadn't been approved by Airbus when they were ready to be delivered. I don't remember seeing it go in for a refresh though.

I've had a look thru A.net but G-VSXY looks unchanged up until the last time it was photographed on 18 April. Mind you I also did a search and can't tell any difference between those two and the other A330 fleet. If it was changed it would be most likely during the change from 2 to 3 class config in October 2013.

As others have mentioned, goth VSXY and VKSS were delivered with a flat red tail, where as the rest have a metallic candy red tail.

VSXY has now had the metallic paint applied, where as VKSS ( I saw this one parked up on Sunday) still has the flat red.

These pics seem to show the two pretty clearly:
