I have registered, thanks International Hitman. These flights just booked are for later in the year, but I am making two other VS flights before 10 July!

I suppose it depends how frequently you fly (And which route), enjoyingit. I fly USA-UK once or twice a month on my own dime for my business (self-employed), so I've never had trouble redeeming miles in any cabin.

I mostly use them for M or S upgrades to G, and occasionally buy a G outright.

Mind you, the VS FC customer services have often reminded me: "miles are to be used, after all!"

And they do have a very real value. American Express, for example, buys around $700 million worth of unrestricted miles from Delta alone **per year** so that Amex users can redeem their Membership Rewards for SkyMiles.

Extrapolate from that all the other major carriers with which Amex have a relationship, and it's an "industry" worth several $billion per year.
