This forum has a lot to answer for. A few years ago I was happy enough pottering to and from MCO a couple of times a year. I'd wait for a sale and book a good priced economy fare....maybe even reduce the cost by doing miles plus money :D

Then I started reading the Trip Reports.....they spoke of the joys of being "beyond the curtain" in both PE and the mythical Upper Class.....I was tempted....and I have been fortunate enough to try both, taking advantage of some good sale fares

In further reading, I learned of the joys of upgrades...which was the best way/cheapest/best use of miles. It's a maths conundrum that wasn't covered in school (maybe it should be |:) ) I decided that ugrading to Upper from an M sounded like the best bet...I still earn more miles and TP's and I don't have to save forever to get enough for a full redemption.

To get to the point I have been saving up my miles for a little while now and have just managed to score two G's to and from MCO next year ^) ^) . These were upgraded from a M fare (To think I didnt even know what that was a little while ago!!)

So to cut a ramble short...thank you to all of you y) y) . The information here is invaluable and has enabled me to make proper use of my miles, plus told me how to actually go about it!!

I can't believe that the G's were also availible on the dates I wanted too...bonus!

Well done. Join the club. I have same upgrades for MCO both ways for next year. Probably not the same dates but it does show it can be done.

Congratulations from me too. I too, never believed I would be able to fly UC except for the tricks of the trade learned on here.

Didn't you also win a Gold card last year? In which case, definitely go out and buy a lottery ticket. Lady Luck is definitely shining on you!

Correct Honey Lamb, that's what started it all!!

Having a glimpse into the joys of the Clubhouse meant I HAD to fly Upper Class...at least once....of course once you have tried it once......there is no going back :D

Completely true.

You smile to yourself when you get them. Again in the CH and then on the plane. And you keep smiling all the time in between.
