Hi all

Thinking of booking flights with Cyprus Airways for a holiday next year. I've heard rumours that VA might be ending their partnership with Cyprus Airways and was wondering, if I do use these and they do decide to end the partnership would they still have to honour any miles that I would of received flying with Cyprus Airways, or is it a question of tough luck?

Thanks in advance

Obviously you have more knowledge about the airline industry the I have, so are you suggesting that booking with Cyprus Airlines is a gamble?

I'm not up to speed with anything like this so further advice would be appreciated. BA also fly this route so would this be a better option?

I flew with Cyprus Airlines in September, would not recommend. They're moving their operations to Stanstead from Heathrow I think, so that may effect the partbership - no connection at Heathrow. I found them expensive and found the staff rather offhand (if not rude!) and the service pretty poor.

I don't know anything more than is in the public domain.

They're a basket case financially at the moment and sold their LHR slots to stay afloat.

I'd 100% book BA or Easyjet over them.

I've been through paphos twice recently and whilst their boarding arrangements are not ideal you just need to use a bit of common sense and wait inside with a nice beer whilst keeping an eye out ,make sure you are close enough if it looks like they are going to shut the doors , I have been last to go through both times this summer and waited no longer than 10 mins in the pens

Good advice from Blacky1. Ignore the urgent calls from gate staff to board, how are you going to board when the plane hasn't even arrived yet. I would imagine that the airport has been put under pressure by the airlines (EasyJet, Thompson etc) to follow these arrangements as it doesn't suit them, forcing your customers out of the shop!

I go to paphos quite a bit so know what to expect but it does make me chuckle when the mad rush for boarding starts for mine and other flights before because I'm normally sat looking at flight radar having a beer and as WPIL says some of the flights haven't even landed , my last flight was called when the plane was about 40 mins away off the Turkish coast .
Also wed sat and sun are the busiest days and the terminal which isn't the biggest anyway can get very busy so maybe they are just looking to create some space for passengers on later flights .
When it's not too busy I think its a smashing little place to fly from

Hi all

I'm certainly glad I took clarkeysntfc's advice last year, last week I attempted to log on to Cyprus Airways web site to check out some prices only to discover they went into liquidation at the start of the year. So pleased I put the original question on here last year!

Thanks
