Amidst the ATC confusion yesterday BA launched a CW and First world sale. VS to follow?

Really?!? Can't see anything online that would resemble anything I'd call a sale fare!

(Virgin did launch a sale themselves yesterday though again no particularly good prices IMO)

According to headforpoints, this IS the Christmas sale, in all cabins, although it's not being publicised until next week.

Raffles does acknowledge that the fares aren't as good as last year however.

He suggests VS have already loaded their Christmas sale fares as well. So this may be as good as it gets.

I have seen that Virgin have extended their sale to match BA. I am looking for a good price to upgrade my return from SFO in July. Of the 50 flights from SFO-LHR in July next year only 4 have no Z fare available (ie no sale fare in UC), and I am on one of them. Got the sinking feeling that I will fail to get either a good Z fare or a G in the next 7 months. I have been checking daily for 3 months with no luck.

Don't give up hope, Gs can and do appear at random at any time. And if there are still unsold UC seats when check in opens they'll often sell miles upgrades at the airport.
