Not all Gold members get bonus points on there birthda.

Only a little rant as I beleive it is a cheek if the membership is met.

My Daughter (17) and Son (15) are both gold members, only got these due to the special offer VA did last year with 20 teir points.

But as my daughter and wife have there birthdays close to one another and my wife received a card and 2000 miles and my daughter did not receive anything.

I called Flying Club and under 18s don't get this privilege, I know it is only a card and a few points but points do make prizes, plus if you get to that level I think this little gift helps younger people choose how they might prefer to fly with. As for my daughter she will probably have to change since the Tokyo route is being cancelled.

ISTBC but I thought technically under-18s can't be fully fledged FC members. They might have their own accounts but they can't do anything with them such as spend miles without an adult's permission.

That will presumably be VS's justification although I agree it does seem a little mean - gold should mean gold!

They used to be part of my gold membership when they were younger, but moved them to there own accounts at 12/13, as a 12 year old is charged a full adult fare.

So if they pay an adult fare, then they should get the privilage of an adult. They might not be able to spent the miles without an adult booking it, but I can use there miles allow them fly on there own.

Seems daft.

Perhaps there are restrictions on marketing to U18s this way.

Don't get me going about getting miles on one's birthday. I was a gold member for 8 years and never got them once.
