Afternoon all, I'm looking to use a stack of miles to book MAN-ATL on the new VS operated service. However when I try to look for reward fares I get the "Flying club miles can't be used on this route" message. I've emailed FC to ask if the route will be released, I've asked a contact I have at VS and no-one seems to know what's going on with them, or even understand that it says that miles can't be used. Lady at FC just kept telling me to keep checking every day because new seats are being released every day. Not on MAN-ATL they're not. Has anyone else had any communication with VS about this? Any ideas if or when I'll be able to book a reward flight? Thank you!

That's happened before on new routes: reward seats don't seem to be available at first, presumably because past ticket sales for specific flights are one of the many factors that determine reward availability and that information isn't available for a new route.

Only when they have a good idea of demand for the various cash fare buckets on different days will the computer decide to make some reward seats available so you'll just have to keep checking.

VS does not promise that reward seats will be available on every flight in every cabin on every route.

So it is a question of keep looking and pounce when they do appear.

I remember the same problem happening before LHR-ATL. I don't know what the reason is but I wouldn't be surprised if you might be able to get some by ringing up...it might just be an IT problem/laziness.

I do know that fairly soon after the first flight though it was available online...if that helps.
