Ba vs virgin

Flying to orlando usally always fly virgin but ba was so Mutch better priced like half the cost has any one flown the ba aircraft and if so what is the aircraft like for legroom being 3-3-3 ? Thank you.

Hi - are you asking about economy seating?

If so, having actually done economy to Orlando recently on BA, I would say that the seating is pretty much the same as Virgin in economy.

Of course, you might like to consider paying for the extra leg room seats...

For every person that loves Virgin they'll be someone who thinks as much of BA
If your're travelling economy i doubt they'll be a great deal of difference.
At half the cost just go for it I'd say.

Probably worth adding - beyond the actual seat and leg room etc, Virgin have just added a couple of service enhancements like a bottle of water etc (do a search, there was a recent thread on this).

It's your judgement as to whether this is worth the extra cost for you

What are the other enhancements? Toilet access and a pressurised cabin?

But seriously, I agree there is probably very little between BA and VS economy in all honesty and I would choose the best deal. Extra legroom may be worth it especially if you are over 5' 6.

Yes going to go ba when you look at seat choice the front seats in guessing are exit seats are 3 but one is blanked off on both legs but I'm not sure if these are exit seats does any one know more n seats ?

Have you looked at the seat maps on BA.com?

They show the exit seats but their location depends on which plane type operates your particular flight.

Also some of their premium seats are blocked off for their status passengers until close to the flight.

hi yes have seen the seat map the middle row all blocked off until closer to the date I spoke to them and said the front seats are bulkhead ?

If they are bulkhead they they are probably basinette positions and won't be released until a few days before the flight so they can assign pax with babies to them. If they are not used they will be releases for general selection.

You need to look at these seat maps not just the ones in manage bookings for the locations of exit rows etc

Ok I think it's 777-200 I'm looking at row 16 but I think it's only 2 seats there but not sure if these are exit seats ?

A bulkhead seat has a wall in front of it which can restrict your foot space - with a normal seat you can put your feet under the seat in front of you.

The IFE and tray table will be generally located within the arm rests - so the seat is slightly narrower than normal.

But probably the most important thing is that bulkhead seats are where the bassinets are installed for babies (on the VS seat maps they are indicated by a sleeping baby) and many airlines will keep these back from general booking so they can allocate them to families with babies a few days before the flight.

The cabins of the 777's which BA use on their LGW fleet haven't been updated or modified since delivery.

They're very much starting to show their age compared to VS's refurbished LGW 747 fleet. IFE is they older low-res on-demand system and BA has no plans to update it.

It might also be worth checking out seatguru.com and then asking for people's thoughts as to whether their opinions are accurate or not. I think in some cases they are but you do get a few drama queens there that have been allowed access to the internet by their carers or parole officers. Most of these are BA.

Ok been on seat guru going to go with 16 a and b has anybody had these seats or know of them ?
