I don't really have a problem with Ryan Air itself, You get what you pay for. I have had problems with groups of stag and hen parties effing and jeffing when there are little 'uns close by. No control taken by the CSS and in fact the last time I flew Ryan Air they continued to serve them alcohol even though they are quite obviously completely plastered. Families were complaining and the CC just carried on serving them and joined in with the "banter".

I can't speak for the person you question this of, but it's not snobbery for me. I hate flying at the best of times, if I fly it needs to be spacious and in relative good standards without feeling claustrophobic.
And I can categorically say a million pounds would not change my mind.
