Well after a hectic spend on Tesco over the last quarter and buying DVDs, Games ,life insurance and the like that I don't need I managed to accumulate a hefty amount to convert by auto converting to VS miles

Also in this quarter Virgin offered a 30% bonus y) y)

So scores on the doors a hefty 59500 + 17850

Now where are those G flights. :D :D :D :D

We just converted ours also because of the 30% bonus. We just had 180,000 put into hubbys FF account. Very fast also , all done in less than 48 hours. Thanks Tesco :D

WOW!!!

That's is impressive, I thought I was good at 39,500 miles plus bonus.

There is definitely not as many G'S around as last year or so it seems. I wouldn't mind one reward and paying for the other like a BOGOFF.
Will keep trying, I remember last year though we didn't book till December and there was lots of reward seats to the West coast, we had our pick, can't miss our yearly Vegas visit. ;)

LOL I would say obsessive, don't know exactly what he bought but I think lots of friends and family are getting DVDs (there was a 500 ccp bonus) for xmas.

But I'm not going to complain, just enjoy the rewards of some nice Gs next year.

I've recently put my clubcard on auto convert to miles. Would I be better off not doing that and instead only converting (manually) when they have conversion bonuses on?

I've not been watching it so I'm not familiar with the frequency of bonuses

Stick with auto convert. You get the extra bonus automatically.

For example, I had 640 Club Card Points auto-converted to 1,500 Airmiles, with a further 450 bonus (30%). Didn't have to do a thing! Simples.

What I would say is that keep a lookout who is giving the extra amount in that quarter as they do change bonus providers such as Avios. Luckily for me this time it was Virgin :D

By the way if you are obsessive in collecting god deals on tesco raffles on Head for points really comes up with the goods like pre ordering games etc for good value clubcard points y)

Hi riong405,

I personally do not auto convert my Tesco clubcard points. I wait and collect them in case there is a good conversion on, then go for it.

As I am also now collecting Avios, so am waiting for them to have a good conversion bonus on. They have not had one this year to date so holding on to them points.

I think Dragon Lady said in a previous post that you can opt out again if you wish at any time.

Each to their own way, and raffles is very good he has lots of posts on both Virgin miles and Avios, worth his weight in gold have learnt a lot from his site, Head for Points. i)

Yes I did . I don't auto convert any more for exactly the same reasons as you :D .
I just wish they'd do another Avios promo conversion ( the last one ran concurrently with the VS bonus offer) .
I've got a BA companion voucher burning furiously in my virtual pocket ):

CHECK YOUR VOUCHERS ONLINE NOW BEFORE THE OFFER EXPIRES - 30% ENDS 31 OCTOBER.

The vouchers for this quarter have been sent out. Even if you don't have them, you can login online at Clubcard and turn your vouchers into miles before the expiry of the 30% offer.

I just logged into both of our accounts and whilst I don't have the paper copies of the vouchers, I was able to tip them into our Miles account. Happy Days.

Heads up guys

Tesco mobile are offering up to 10,000 clubcard points for certain pay monthly tariffs on phones see link below

http://phone-shop.tesco.com/pay-monthly ... R=1#paging

Although they are not the best phones or tariffs 10,000 clubcard points gets you 25,000 VS miles.

So if your looking for a son or daughter first phone try here for £22 a month y) y)

Current points collection period ends 23/7/15

I have a card with 2145 points on it and ideally want to clear the points down to zero and close it (family member gone into care and says do what I like with it)

Q1 If I go out and spend £5 today or tomorrow will I then get £21.50 of vouchers with zero points balance.

Q2 If so and I then want to clear the voucher balance into Flying Club can I only do this in multiples of £2.50 so will end up with £1.50 left, or can I convert in multiples of 50p to FC/Avios/BAEC to clear the lot? Minimum conversion of £2.50?

Reason I ask is I have very recently received "change from rewards" of 100 points in another account which can only be from when I have tried to do 50p multiples previously to FC?? Got a feeling it worked to Avios or BAEC. Not sure. Anyone know?

Impressive, am I missing a trick here? How on earth do some of you accumulate so many clubcard points? I do an online shop about once a week and usually end the quarter with 6-700 points.

I order a case or two of Moet And Chandon Non Vintage Imperial 150Cl with my weekly delivery, it soon adds up ;-)

But other more realistic ways to crank up the Clubcard points are Tesco Direct shopping, Tesco wine bonuses and Tesco petrol. I did get and extra 1250 points a quarter for a year with a £5/ month life insurance policy via Aviva last year.

It is getting harder these days to get extra points on promotions, but occassionally they are available, though of little use if they are promotions on items you do not usually use.

Some people buy (non-Tesco) gift cards from Tesco in bulk as you can ger 150 Clubcard points for every £50 of gift cards you buy. Personally I find these a hassle but for some it seems a profitable means of getting extra points.

However I actually cash all my Clubacrd points in for BA Avios as I get 800 Avios for a £2.50 Clubcard voucher as opposed to 625 Virgin airmiles.

you will have to wait for this quarters clubcard points to post on the account, which should be about four days after the earning period ends on the 23rd July.YOu can then transfer them into whatever scheme you like but I believe in multiples of £2.50 no smaller.IF you have an odd amount left they will just stay on the account, unless the family member can contact Tesco to either close or transfer them. Hope this helps Linda

On collecting Tesco points I transfer the maximum from TCB every year and as a Plus member get an additional 5% this quarter I have over £80 in points, my usual offering is about £40. How do you get 800 points Maximus are you on the very old scheme?

Yes, I had one of the very first Tesco Clubcards, back in the days when Sainsbury's were the store that gave away BA Airmiles (as they then were). Tesco took over and have maintained the original airmiles reward for us old-timers.

Thanks - yeah I think I have been (kindly/fortunately) been refunded the "change" points from previous times I have ordered a conversion mistakenly thinking that I could have any amount divisible by £0.50 provided over £2.50. The bit where you enter the amount you want to convert allows this. Vouchers seem to come in 50p "denominations" so if I spend £5 on his biscuits etc I can clear the card completely via vouchers for some other treats for my grandpa.

Glad I jumped into this thread, I had recently just put my Clubcard points back over to Virgin as I have quite a few trips planned over the next few years and noticed I had a pile of vouchers unclaimed, just did the conversion and just managed to add almost 5000 extra points :D

I'll be hanging on to see if there's a conversion bonus - there was one on in August last year, 20%, but I am not in a hurry to redeem any miles so worth the wait to get to my target quicker. I only do reward flights you see...

We don't do our big shops in Tesco but it' our local 'up the road' shop, so we regularly pop in for bits we;ve forgotten and I normally fill up the car there. So how have I only got £2.50 in vouchers since the beginning of 2015???

On a slightly separate note, how long should I give it for my Flying Club account to be credited? I know it's says 30 days, but can it go over this?

Don't know what might've gone wrong with your collecting - 1 point per £ in store and 1 pt per £2 on fuel which was close to £1/litre for a while. £2.50 represents a £250 spend in store or £500 at the pump so if you mainly spend on fuel... Check your clubcard statement vs credit card statements or whatever.

The most recent clubcard to virgin conversion I did seemed very quick - even overnight I seem to recall but I have seen it take a few days. I'd be on the phone on day 31 for sure.
