Just 14 days until my (first) UC to BGI! So excited! My wife needs to take a full length gown with us. Suggestions for packing please - garment carrier to be hung up for the flight or a dress box? Me - I'm just taking the shorts!

Thanks

Never having worn such a dress it's not a problem I've personally experienced.

Whilst it is likey to be safe in the wardrobe the real damage (ie creases etc) will come from it being folded over your arm (I'm sure you won't make your beloved carry it herself) when carrying it and being folded in the car to the airport, laid on a chair in the CH etc etc

A box might be a better idea but remember it will form part of the carry on allowance - as will the garment bag the dress will be in - and will need to be within the dimensions.

A garment carrier will require the dress ( in part) to be folded and the wardrobes can get pretty rammed at times. If possible I'd pack in a separate box ( or a hard sided case) with lots of tissue paper ( don't forget you've a decent luggage allowance :)) . I don't know if it's a 'special' dress but it may still need a good steam at the other end to relax any creases that will inevitably occur .
Have a fab time :)

I wouldn't carry on. With 96k baggage allowance each over 3 cases I would pack in hold luggage & do away with all the bother of carrying a garment back through airports & on to aircraft.

If it is a very special dress I would want to keep it with me so would pack it in a small trolley case with tissue paper and take it onboard.
