I rang to hold some flights for booking last night and got told by the agent on the Gold line that they will only hold flights for up to 24 hours now!?

Previously i've been able to hold up to 72 hours.

Has anyone else experienced this? I guess there was a recent rule change?

I decided to press this and called the Gold line three times to ask different agents to see if the answer changed. It didn't.

Apparently the rules did change in the last few months. Revenue fares can only be held for 24 hours, with no extensions. After 24 hours it needs a reprice. Reward bookings can be held for 72 hours.

Quite disappointing really.

Odd, I have been given 48hr and 72hr holds over the last few weeks.

Have I been lucky, or have you been unlucky is the question CommanderB ;-)

My story is from FlyingCo rather than Flying Club but they held a reward booking for me for 9 days last month... we were patiently waiting for the return to appear.

I would imagine they have more scope to play by their own rules though.

Sorry, I know this doesn’t help you Commander, but might help others in the future. Not there’s much of a future left for FlyingCo.
