I know it's a cliche, but I think the Japanese standard of customer service provision is in general higher than we are used to in the UK these days. It's different to the American 'have a nice day' which sometimes seems forced or not very genuine (not wishing to cause offence to any Americans here). That life experience maybe comes with the Japanese FA's by default.
