Boarded slightly late but no big deal,I have flown UC a few times but mainly on 747's, this of course was an A330, so UC was bigger, it did appear slightly more cramped & it was full and..........there were a total of six kids in UC. I have grown up children & also three grandchildren, so understand the problems involved with travelling with them. But one family was right opposite me utilising three seats, Mum,Dad, 4 year old & a baby......also a nanny in Economy! I have to say it spoilt my usual enjoyment of UC, they were constantly on the move for what seemed the whole flight, baby was not too bad but the older one was one pain in the proverbial. Seemed to cry & moan all the time seeking constant parental input. Anyway decided to throw copious quantities of red wine at the problem which basically worked as I did manage a couple of hours sleep. On descent into Gatwick the little madam just cried continuously for what was about 15-20 mins then stopped abruptly on landing....was she scared? Me thinks not ,she just didn't like having to sit still.
UC seat was fine for me, I am not particularly big, food was usual good standard and what part of "Gravity" I watched was good!....the wine finally got me!
I do not profess to know the answer about kids in planes ( unless they go in the hold!.....only joking), but one pays a lot of money to travel UC & this time it didn't work for me.
Do BA allow kids in Club World?......joking again.

It's a holiday route - what do you expect? Ok, perhaps some kids could behave better, but that's true in life, not just in the business/first cabin of an airliner.

Oh, and someone travelling in economy could be just as bothered about kids as you, and it is just possible that they've saved for 2 years just to get on the plane - albeit in the nasty cheap seats.

I'm sorry, but this constant thing about kids on planes really gets my goat, together with the idea that because you are in the upper class cabin, this somehow changes the allowed demographic.

Have some tollerance towards those that will support you when you're old.

I am with Concorde on this. Why is the choice of the parents to go UC any less or more valid than your choice just because they have kids with them.

I have travelled UC, PE & Ec with 1, 2 and now 3 kids when we go to MCO next month.

We try to keep them amused, but it is at least 7 hours trans atlantic depending on route - kids are also far more susceptible to pressure changes which can hurt like a boot in the you know wheres and they have no way to resolve it.

For me, ANY airline which bans kids from ANY fare class, is one airline I will never travel with - with or without my kids.

And folk should really get a little more on the patience side of things - you want complete privacy, fly private - remember even in UC it is still a commercial flight.

I have said this before and I will say it again ;) I have seen some very badly behaved passengers - but normally only adults. Who really should know better.

Might I respectfully suggest that the descent was causing a great deal of pain for her in her ears? My son used to suffer greatly from that when he was that age and on his first flight, screamed the place down in spite of my and the crews' best efforts to alleviate the pain. I quickly learned how to deal with it and it was never such a problem since, but even now he (and I) occasionally experiences discomfort which is bordering on the threshold of pain.

I do agree with all the others up thread, I have seen some really badly behaved adults on flights before - so bad infact that the captain came on and announced that if they didnt pipe down he would make a divert and offload them lol which was responded by a loud round of applause from everybody else on the plane.
