Does it involve Bird's Eye and curtains?

No, I like that one, but the one I am referring to involves George Michael!

Not familiar with the Macc Lads, but they seem to be on a par with The Streets when it comes to lyrical rhyming ability?

'A new day another morning after, leaning back on my chair in a greasy spoon cafeteria' [:)]

Thanks,
Sarah

Though the works of Difford and Tilbrook are some of the finest in living memory, the coupling of

I never thought it would happen
With me and the girl from Clapham

always makes me wince as does the 'common / forgotten' couplet further on.

HighFlyer and pjh, I love The Streets and Squeeze desperately and would have dozens of good couplets from them in my head -- in fact, when I read this thread title, I immediately thought 'Not like good couplets such as I never thought it would happen/With me and the girl from Clapham' [y] Honest to god. To each their own [:)]

But since this is about bad ones, here is the WORST:

My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump,
My hump, my hump, my hump, my lovely little lumps

Courtesy of The Black Eyed Peas, a reference to her butt (I guess)? I can only imagine how many women who have suffered breast cancer must recoil when they hear that 'little lumps' line -- having several good friends who've suffered it, the insensitivity of the line comes close to pissing me off. I mean, the only time anyone even uses the word lump anymore is to discuss that disease...or, more archaically, sugar for tea. It just makes me mad.

Rant over.

GJ - you have just reminded me of some more lyrics that I find hilarious, yet rubbish at the same time

Shakira - Whenever, Wherever

'Lucky that my breasts are small and humble
So you don't confuse them with mountains'
