having only found this site in the last few months i have great fun reading and looking at all the topics thanks.
i normally fly lhr to iad mostly uc when funds allow (recently semi-retired)to see very good friends and family, going 3/4 times a year.
having found maxjet on the web, they seem to be a good product at a good price, but with a new airline one thing bothers me if a book going in early may and returning early june, what would happen if they went like my favourite american airline indenpenance air bust?what would happen to me flying out and back.
any help with this question would be very helpful, thanks
julian

Well let's see,pay with a credit card and you should be covered against any loss of money,as to getting you back,im seeing if they have a share agreement with anyone, but that may take a while.

Just a not, they are having a sale right now..leave on a tuesday or wed for $750/430 pounds roundtrip !,valid till Apr 30

btw

VS..take a look at the maxjet booking page please...

Thanks for your help. Just seen the VS sale in PE but cannot travel 'til 7/8th May and not back 'til 12/13th June so I don't think the PE sale will be any good seeing as they say up 'til 30th May to travel.

So if I pay by Visa card and Maxjet do go belly up, will I get my money back from CapitalOne?

Thanks

Hi Julian and welcome.

The PE sale fare is based on your date of outward travel, it doesn't matter if your return is in June.

Why not check on-line for availability.

Such kind words! You win a prize of a FlyI mousepad, bummer sticker and something else I have from the airline as an ex-employee turned intern. PM me to claim.

As Dave said. normally the credit card company gives you back your money as tradational they airline does not receive the funds til you travel. Also the airlines that are operating will honor MaxJet bookings on a standby basis plus a US50 admin fee.

Also from what I gather from IAD ramp employees, the B terminal would get the flight so the lounge would be VS CH, AF/ANA Signet, or NW Whatever-they-call-it. No word from MaxJet yet.

I had booked with Jetmagic from ORK-LCY (which really were a great little airline but it was obvious they could not sustain the level of service they were offering [:(] Freshly made sanwiches of an incredible variety, Hagen-Das ice cream, freshly brewed coffee, wine.... you name it!). I awoke one morning with the news they had gone belly-up overnight [:0] We had booked using our Visa card and because the charge had been over Û100 I got the whole lot back on presentation of my booking confirmation [y]

Well I'm going to give these guys a try, 850GBP return for two of us LON-NYC, end July/early August.

Yes i love Virgin, but if I haven't got the miles for an upgrade to UC then I'm going PE which is no better/worse than WT+ IMHO. And looking at the maxjet site and reading a few reviews the Maxjet product seems to be an old style Business, a sort of PE++, and for less than VS in PE.

I know this is a special sale offer, but it seems to be doing the trick for them, I couldn't get flights on the days i wanted and had to shop around a few days earlier and later to get the deal. All on the trusty CC, just in case, and also following a quick check of my travel insurance docs last night.
