Checking out Sydney fares now, as there may be a reason for someone in the family to fly out at short notice. The MpM fares listed on the VS website were higher than the cheapest cash only price I managed to get.

Is this down to T&Cs?

The last ticket I bought was like this... no offers on the route, so I looked at the MpM fare which was in the ball park of what i normally like to pay, but shopped around a bit more and found an N ticket from an agent slightly cheaper than the MpM fare, and of course I get to keep the miles for a rainy day [:o)]

Ive found VH fares often undercut MPM fares. MPM therefore appears to me to be a good way to burn miles for no good reason.

True at times you can find other fares cheaper than MpM, but then at others they represent good value. Especially during peak season, I've reguarly saved colleagues over 150 pounds on the lowest available rev fare.

When you pair it up with the new 50 pound flex option, it can start to be useful. Especially if you need to go somewhere in Upper, as you can skip the AdvPurch req, and get a MpM for much less.

Thanks,
Richard
