I see we still haven't beaten the record for the highest number of members logged on at one time since last June. How about we all agree a date and time to try and up that? Surely there are tons more members now?

What greater way to show our support for the superb site that it is [y] (well apart from joining up properly and buying kits - come on, get those moth-ridden wallets out!) ;)

Yes come on - there have been lots of new members since last June and the activity seems to be increasing all the time?

We must be able to get it to over 250 if we all get here at the same time?

Does anyone have any good ideas as to what time is best? Something like a Sunday eveening perhaps so that we can get everyone in Europe online at the same time as all our good friends in the States!! ( sorry if you are in Asia or Australia - you will just have to get up early on Monday!!)

Thoughts anyone?

Oh and yes - to those of you who havent joined - come on in - the water's lovely!!!!

Purely on a time basis, 4pm UK time must be the best time. This would be 8am in LA, and 8pm in Hong Kong. I am sure this is in most peoples waking time. (Sorry to any members in Hawaii!)

Why would we need to do this? What's to be gained.[:?][:#]

Exactly, Paul has hit the nail on the head in that while its great to see how popular the forum is, for us die hard V-Flyer junkies, when there are very high levels of users the site cant always handle it and you'll get the "Service Unavailable" page. And most annoying it is too - as its akin to missing sections of your favourite soap opera!

Thanks,
Sarah

Just out of interest then - how was the current record established with 280 users logged on - and at 23:27 one evening?

And why do it? Coz you can of course!!!

No need to lock I think. The record is not fully understood. I is thought it happened when VF was in the media. Alternatively it may have been a plague of web crawlers.

Got ya Jeremy - thats interesting - so did the site suffer a major snarl up? It seems it happened at a weird time? And is the recording "thingy"(?) automated too?
