Hello,

To get the Vegas forum going...

I am booked to go there for a second time in June for 10 nights. The previous trip was only 4 nights and with a day spent at the grand canyon wasnt long enough.

Where do I stay though? I am still undecided - here are the current choices.

Wynn - Originally booked a panoramic view here. Then decided maybe it wasnt worth the money when I actually wanted to be in the middle of it all.

Bellagio - Currently have a Lake View Room - just not sure its going to be big / comfy enough for a 10 night stay.

Venetian - Last time I had a concierge level room here, but for 10 nights its silly $$.

Four Seasons - I emailed them to ask if they were having a rumoured refit. They never replied but as it turns out they have. Rooms look nice but not sure how the location.

Signature Suites @ MGM Grand - This has sprung up recently and so is a potential option. However not being open yet makes it hard to decide. I just quite like the idea of having a Balcony & Private pool just for the tower with use of MGM's if wanted. What puts me off is not being directly on the strip (one block back) and having a "kitchenette" in the suite.

I know a lot of this has been discussed before in other threads that I've read. I just thought there may be some inside info thats worth knowing?

Depends - do you specifically want a hotel and to be on the strip? Are you hiring a car?

Personally, I prefer to rent an apartment/condo - have stayed in the Westgate Flamingo Bay a few times and would recommend it. It is off strip, although they have a courtesy bus thing that runs to and from the strip.

Well for that length of stay, have you considered maybe more than one hotel, maybe stay at one of the hotels you've mentioned during the week and move out to one of the hotels on the outskirts maybe Green Valley Ranch or red rock over the weekend, here is the link.
Also there is always Lake Las Vegas with the Ritz and others.Link is here.

I can vouch for Green Valley Ranch, really nice property but it all depends on how close to the strip you want to be.

I really like the look of Red Rock Station - only opened a few days but looks superb - if I didn't get such good deals at harrah's owned properties I would probably be staying there when I go in June.

Have you considered theHOTEL at Mandalay Bay? Not sure about their suites but their rooms are very nice...

Steven, we have just returned from a trip to the West Coast of the USA which included 9 nights in Vegas. I spent ages surfing the net trying to choose the right hotel - once you get above a 2 or 3 night stay the choice of hotel somehow is much more important.

We ended up staying 5 nights at the Bellagio - like you we had booked a lakeview room but at check-in upgraded to a bigger room (they called it a suite but it really was just a much bigger room with a whirlpool bath). I would highly recommend this as an option, we still had a lakeview but the room was on 28th floor with special elevator access and included front of the line passes. It was definitely big enough for the 5 nights we stayed and only cost an extra $20 per night. I had tried to book the Four Seasons but it was much more expensive.

For the last 4 nights we moved to the Ritz-Carlton at Lake Las Vegas after a suggestion from V-Flyer (jetwet1 I think thanks). It's a beautiful hotel in a fabulous setting but only about 30 mins from Vegas. We found that it was lovely to get away from Vegas and relax, was a great base for sightseeing trips yet close enough to Vegas if we wanted to go back. We were really glad that we had split our stay in Vegas and felt that the whole 9 nights at the one hotel would have been too much. If you do think about this hotel I would recommend a club level room.

Let us know what you decide.
