Just been thinking... [:I]

This "Golden Gift" idea is good - a monthly draw for all those who submitted an entry when their Au pack was issued.

Just wondering though - is it a permanent thing?

I guess every Au has signed up this month, but what about when renewal packs come through? (T's & C's say only one entry per person)

What happens after this "round" of entries?

A flyer went out with all of the new Gold packs that were sent last week. You need to register for the Golden Gift, with the details on that flyer.

All Gold members should have one by now [?]

New Gold Packs? Are you referring to the new Gold Statements? If not, I have not had anything. If you are, I didn't read it so I have missed it. Can you enlighten me....?

Nope, not the statements - all Golds were issued with packs (including luggage tags/cards) with the new style design from last week.

The statements were just one of the changes. I believe Silver and Red will follow when their year renews, but Golds have been issued with a new style card (+ pack & "Golden Gift" card) immediately.

I got mine with my new Au pack last week and entered the draw. I'd like to think that with the seeming absence of an Au event this year that a few more of these competitions could easily be justified.

Although, as i entered the competition i did sit there and think to myself 'hmmm ... round trip Y tickets .. er, like i'll use them if they are not upgradable', so it would be nice to see a pair of UC tix as the main prize as surely that is more reflective of the Au demographic?

Thanks,
Sarah

I also recieved mine last week which was handy as one of my tags was damaged on return from Vietnam.

The gift idea sounds good although not too sure of the usefulness of some of them - think maybe the two returns in Y would be best from my point of view as I think tickets on an innuagral flight could be quite tricky to use.

To clarify on some of the confusion on the Golden Gift, here is a response from the team that run it:

The Golden Gift ticket is only given to members who have recently upgraded or renewed their membership pack. We are running this competition for our UK Gold members only and it will be running for 12 months until end of March 2007 when the overall winner will be announced. We have 6 monthly prizes drawn each month but every single member, regardless of whether or not the member has won anything in that month, will be entered into the main prize draw for next year.

Some members may be confused as to why they have received a pack when their card is due to expire within the next month or two, but rest assured, if they do renew, they will receive another pack at that time. We've just tried to be generous by sharing the new packs with all of our Gold members!

Thanks,
Richard

I've received my pack also. This was my first renewal and I was expecting to receive a companion ticket, being a physical paper voucher. There was nothing in my pack but my online statement does show that I have been awarded the companion ticket.
Should I have received a voucher or is it all just done electronically? I'm sure some of the old hands on here will be able to tell me :)

Thanks,
Gareth.

It's all electronic, Gareth. You have to claim it within 12 months, but it can be booked as far as 11 months in advance, so *technically* it's valid for 23 months.

No paper voucher though.

Just spoke to VS to book my Limo's for my upcoming trip and thought I would ask them about my pack. They did confirm they would be working through all of the Gold Members (Austin Powers???) in the forthcoming weeks. Guess I will wait again, but won't hold my breath.

There were only a few more packs to be fulfilled when I checked with VS last week, as I was chasing mine. If you haven't had by the end of this week, then call VS.

Thanks,
Richard
