PE class + upgrade question

Just out of interest, if I was wanting to buy a PE in Nov07 and upgrade it to UCS with miles what fare class would I be needing to buy? And would I be better of with M+M. Can I Do this with 2 adults and one child, both adults having plenty of miles of course.

I was going to add this to another thread, but thought better of it
