Wow,that is one messed up engine,what the heck hit those blades to cause that amount of damage.Any idea's which airline?

OMG - That is scary to think they were actually flying like that, no wonder they had to shut it down because of vibration.

As Dave says, "Which airline?" - just so we can all make sure we never fly it!

Flippin Heck ( was meaning to say something else ) It won't be too long before that is going to be on Aircrash investigated on Discovery I think.

It's Chinese-owned, and does international flights.

That's all I know for sure...

Unbelievable - you always put your trust ( and your life!) in the airline and its maintenance schedules dont you - the point made about US and Western Carriers is unformtunate but in this case - true!

You can see a bit of the livery in the background, blue and white stripes it seems, if it's chinese owned then I'm stumped.

They are amazing photo's, and an amazing story!

You'd have thought the authorities would step up random checks on other planes in the airlines fleet as a result of this - I wonder if they have ?

If you look close the fuselage showing is a second airplane. The wing above the removed engine is facing forward so the fuselage shown is actually off the left wing tip. The engine has been turned around for this picture.

That is scary!

From the blue stripes on the plane it does look like Air China. I think we all just pray that this is the exception rather than the rule in terms of 'maintenance' for this airline.

Look forward to the Aircrash Investigation film on the matter though
