UA Mileage Award Level Increase

Effective Oct. 16, 2006 UA is increasing the award mileage levels on some routes.

Example: USA-OZ Now 60K miles, Come 16OCT06 80K

USA-Europe levels are the same expect First increases from 100K to 125K.

Call me stupid here but couldn't you burn your reward miles on another *A carrier thereby avoiding the increase (or were UA the cheapest anyway?)
