No, I've just been online and according the UK passport office, instead of using fingerprints or iris scans, they measure your facial structure from your passport photo and that information is added put onto the biochip, this is one of the reasons why the photos need to be much more clear than normal.
For instance the chip will have how far apart my eyes are and things which cannot be faked.

Oh Crap! So not only will I look ugly in my passport photo, but now there will be a formula in the chip that confirms the fact!
Maybe a silly question but what happens a few years down the line when the new passport user enjoys Ben and Jerry's a bit too much?
