Likewise, you can get KrispyKreme doughnuts in Harrods but you'll
most likely faint when you see how expensive they are!

Good news (possibly). KrispyKreme doughnuts can be purchased at the Tesco in Covent Garden, and I think there's also an outlet on Holborn.

In terms of sights, if the weather's good take a flight on the London Eye (unless the route into LHR has taken you east - west down the Thames; the best way to see London) and take a stroll in Hyde Park..

Enjoy your visit..

By boat is a good way to do it. You can get boats from most places
along Embankment. Westminster Pier is a good one if I recall it
right but you'd be best advised to check. The boat tours give you a really nice view of the city and most stop and allow you to disembark at Greenwich.

Someone asked our itinerary:
* 6 nights in London at Covent Garden Hotel
* Train to Bath for 4 nights at a B&B

As a local to Bath here are some ideas - some obvious some a little different:

You'll notice a far more relaxed atmosphere from London and although not cheap, your £ cash will go further. Expect some quite steep hills to walk up and down though!

Check out:
The Royal Crescent in Bath

Chill out in Victoria Park - Great place to watch the world go by and have a picnic

The Roman Baths

Pulteney Bridge and the Abbey

The Theatre Royal

Have tea at 'Sally Lunn's' tea rooms

Take a 'Ghost Walk' after dark (http://www.ghostwalksofbath.co.uk/)
- Great Fun and not at all scary for kids

Eating in Bath - Generally some very good Restaurants
Look out for > The Moon & Sixpence
6a Broad Street
BATH
Avon
BA1 5LJ
Tel: +44 (01225) 460962

The Rajpoot Indian restaurant is also good (off Pulteney Bridge)

Avoid the main hotels and chains for eating as the local Restaurants are so much better

Close to Bath.......

If you get a rainy day take the family by train to Bristol (15 mins down the line) and visit the 'at Bristol exhibition' > Great for Kids. You can get a water ferry from outside the famous Temple Meads Train Station in Bristol which drops you off at the venue. Also a really nice cafe culture has sprung up around the waterfront area of Bristol.

Then there is the SS Great Britain, the world's first iron-hulled, steam-powered ocean going ship (http://www.ssgreatbritain.org/)

Have fun and enjoy....

Oh and most importantly, be sure to buy your son a West Ham United football shirt in London > Best team in the world!!!
