E - TICKETS

We are booked to fly to MCO September. We got e-tickets for the first time. The advice on the tickets is that each member of the party must carry a separate copy of the ticket. With a family of 4, and each ticket comprising quite a few pages that`s a not an inconsidearble amount of additional paperwork to be carrying around[n] Can anyone tell me if it is indeed necessary to carry the paperwork for each member of the family, or can i simply carry one that has my name as lead passenger and includes the full details of the rest of the family. It is a family of 4 all with the same surname.

To be honest... I have just turned up with my passport before and not had any problems at check-in. So long as you have one peice with all details and 4 passports matching that then I see no problem.

Just tell them your looking after our environment by saving trees...

Yup - 1 copy of the e-ticket worked for me and the present Mrs Treelo last month. After all, it has all the travellers' names on, doesn't it [?]

You really only need the first page of the email with the flight details and class of travel to get you past VS security at check-in so that they can ask you the relevant question (and prevent you from joining the PE or UC queue if you are not entitled to use them). At most, you should have the e-ticket number for reference (just in case but that is rare used unless there is some kind of dispute) but more importantly your PNR (booking reference) so that they can find your booking if something goes wrong.

The rest of the e-ticket is terms & condition which is the contract between VS and yourself. No need to bring that along.

To be honest, I never even bother with the E-ticket at all. Admittedly I would have a copy of the email on my phone if needed, but it never has been. I just turn up, passport in hand, and hey-presto they look my name up and check me in. To be on the safe side it may be best to take along a copy of the first page. I cannot think that duplicate copies would be needed unless your party gets split up on the way to the airport.

One of the plus sides of e-tkts is that you can just turn up with a passport and as long as your booking can be found you'll get checked in (so better to at least know your Record locator/PNR).

For personal peace of mind, and to get into the premium or upper check-ins however its always wise to carry one printed out copy.
