First ever flight on business/upper class

Hi all,

I've finally accumulated enough mileage for my first flight on business class (virgin upper class), and would like to get the most out of this experience, and therefore have the following questions:

1)I've booked a single to Hong Kong, the aircraft seems to be the following: A340-600 Vers. 2 (346), which would be the best seat to choose? I originally chose the 2A seat with guidance from the 'seatguru' website, however, I'm not entirely convinced of it's levels of privacy and have therefore changed to seat 5A.

2)Clubhouse access, would I be eligible to access the heathrow clubhouse? If so, would there be any cost in using any of the facilities?

Any info/advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks!

Welcome to V-Flyer, and congratulations on being able to enjoy the Upper Class experience on Virgin.

V-Flyer also has this Seat Ratings Feature that you may enjoy perusing. On the 346, as with other aircraft, we all have our own personal favorite seats. If you don't want to face anyone you might consider seats such as 2K or 3K. Notice on seat ratings page how the Suites are configured; some face each other.

As for Clubhouse access, yes, all Upper Class passengers may use the London Clubhouse. All services, meals and beverages are complimentary though many people do provide gratuities for some services, particularly the Spa. The Clubhouse was recently renovated and is worth a good long stay; so, plan on arriving early enough that you can have several hours to relax there before your flight.

After considering what you pointed out regarding the seat arrangements (where some seats face each other), i've decided to go for seat 8A.

Another question regarding the clubhouse, do they have a luggage 'drop-off' facility?

By a "drop-off" facility I presume you mean an area where you can leave your carry-on items? Yes, they do. It is just at the entrance to the Clubhouse on the left behind the greeters area.
