Well when you board you get a basic seat - no screen, no headrest cover, not IFE magaizine. But you do get an armrest and a cushion. There is also a note on the seat that says if you want the 'extras' they are stacked up in the toilet, and please do help yourself. ;);)

The screens on the new seat look bigger.

...and there was me thinking no hoping those nasty yellow seat covers were finally going [:(] [:$] [ii]

Why oh why yellow [:?] Argggg it makes no sense and it hurts my eyes.

(sorry going to sit in a dark room for a while and take some depth breaths LOL [:w])

They actually look narrower although it might be just the photo.

The new seats have a lumbar support feature.

Also when you recline the base of the seat moves forward to support the back of your thighs.

The seat is also alot wider, which means the aisle is narrower.

You also get more legroom!

I think they said the redecoration of Economy would come later. Which is pretty stupid really since they will have to redo everything then.

Oh, and Ben, if you end up in EC try to take some pictures.

I flew on G-VFIT to BOS in June in W but didn't notice any differences in there - was I not being observant or has nothing changed in PE yet?

Maybe it's better from a pax point of view to redo the seats later as it means that they will have newer coverings for longer:D

This is a good feature - the old PE seats (like on the LGW 747s) do this, as I recall. Nice.

Ok heres a summing up...

G-VFIT W currently has current seats but will have new Superseat when retro fits take place, as its the latest aircraft will probably be the last now to be refitted... but Older A/C such a G-VSHY will be done sooner hopefully.

Y - G-VFIT has the new Y seat, slightly wider and better recline, the width has been achieved by putting the TV control under the tv screen.

Y - The new interiors eg getting rid of horrible yellow/orange will be on new aircraft entering service and as others are retrofitted with config 2.

Livery... the new livery on the exterior, first one should be NOV when it will come from Airbus ..

I hope that clears a few things up?

The comment was made above that the new Y seat "has more legroom" - can someone tell me WHAT the new legroom on a 346 will be with the new seats fitted?

As things are, I will never fly in Y on VAA as legroom is currently appalling, and there are plenty of other carriers who have sensible space in Y - Air NZ for instance (who also use the UCS now [}:)]).

Flying to DXB, VS will need reasonable legroom competing against Emirates;)
