Seems unlikely:

The tail is already done in the classic Virgin "scrawl" with purple edging.

The tail, sometimes just the rudder, is usually already painted when it's attached to the aircraft to help with balancing the aircraft during construction. In the case of the Airbuses, it's also because the tail is made of composites, so it's painted before it leaves the factory.

Obviously, this one was already far enough along before the new paint specs were available.

Maybe it will be painted onto G-VHIP or G-VYOU? Both due to enter the fleet Aug 06

As I recall HIP is now RED, it looks like someone realised they already had an "India Papa" - G-VLIP "Hot Lips".

That does stop us having G-VBED though for when VS finally get around to doing real cabins with real beds (seen the plans for the ceiling void on the 747-800 pax yet?), though I suppose we could have G-VLIE, but that might be a hostage to fortune...

Is it just me or does anyone else the picture posted above make the aircraft look like a cut n shut?

It doesn't look like a cut-n-shut. It is a cut-n-shut! ;)

See for yourself... the bits arrive by Beluga in Toulouse, and they stitch it all together...
