I may be fussy but I'd like ascent, cruising and descent service:D;)[:w]

Given all the beef on fuel surcharges and "rationalisation" of luggage allowances I'd be happy to see an "all inclusive" weight allowance. Like normal allowance of say 125kg for Y and W and 175kg for J.

ummm that would give me about 5kgs luggage in Y:D

I did notice that on my DXB-LHR seamed to be of Arab origin and certianly spoke Arabic. Makes prefect sense and was helpful to pax. I bet it creates a safer cabin too yet the safetly video was only in english. Maybe V:Port could offer the safetly video in multiple tougues?

Have we been spoilt over the years?

Spoilt for what exactly? Not sure I get your point manymiles .My experience of VS crews over the years is that they've appeared a pretty normal lot-which means crew of all shapes, sizes, colours, creeds etc.

Agree with Dragonlady - I fail to see what the point of the original post is and now as expected there is another post talking about passengers!!

Time to stop methinks?

Agreed![y][^]

This topic bears almost no actual relevance to anything whatsoever and should be stopped.

My partner is Cabin Crew, and she is getting larger. But then I did get her pregnant. Now she is grounded so no more companion trips for me for a while.... Just glad I got the HK-SYD in UCS a few months back.

I can't believe this topic is still open! [V]

An individuals size or shape is not a tool to assess their suitability or ability to be a Virgin Atlantic Cabin Crew member.

The question "have we been spoilt over the years?" is offensive [n]

I am a little surprised by what I started here, no offense was intended.

Not strictly true JetStreamer. There is a minimum height requirement of 5'2". And a morbidly obese person in incredibly unlikely to pass the physical.

(Although I hate to have any input into this thread - as it is offensive in nature...)

I'm pretty sure the "standard" spec for Cabin Crew was always that "Weight should be in proportion to height" [?]

From an anthropological point of view, threads like this are always interesting. We all keep complaining about its taste but still keep coming back for more! [:?]

P.S. Being of a forgetful nature I forgot which 'ology was the study of human nature, so I googled 'ologies and found This Site.
Did you know that "Parthenology" is the study of Virginity! [:o)]
Does that make us a bunch of Parthenologists?

I'm sure some of the other ologies listed there are made up....
Autology - The study of car buying?!?!?!?!
Storiology - The study of Folklore!?!?!?!?!
Barology - The study of weight and gravitation!?!?!?!?!

Hey Jetstreamer, ever consdered why it is when we go for a uniform fitting - we always end up with a size larger than we wear out of work? Its the companys way of making us feel bad!

But I do think this topic is a little unfair... So who really cares what size crew are? its their ability to do a job that counts. (if the company fed us healthy food in the crew cart it would help!)

Why is the VS cabin crew application printed up on such think paper? Maybe an area to consider to cut cost on?

Does VS tend not to hire from BA? With the pay cut (big) and all it does show desire to work for VS.

I was specifically referring to the observations of the original poster. Obviously there are certain criteria assessed at the recruitment stage.

Bloody rude if you ask me
