Hi,

Wonder if anyone can help me out with this one.

Tried to do the online check-in today for my Vegas flight tomorrow but it just came up with :-

"Unfortunately, we are unable to check you in online at the moment. Please check in at the airport as usual."

I am aware that seat reservation is not set in stone, but I've had this seat booked for many months now. Does it mean that someone has jumped in before me and taken my seat?! It was upper deck at the rear, somewhere I was looking forward to relaxing.

Many thanks in advance,

AC

I am not sure what the point of the OLCI is for VS as you do not get a boarding pass. I did it recently and I was allowed to check in but when I got the airport I could not get a boarding pass as I needed to pay a change fee at the ticket desk.

So what was the point of letting me check in online.

I had the same problem about a month ago with my flight to MIA. I phoned Virgin in the end to ensure there wasn't a problem with my reservation/flight. They checked me in over the phone and couldn't explain why the error had occurred!

It's sorted!

The problem was with me and my name! I have a dodgy name that needs to be security checked everytime I go to the US. I asked the security checker if there was anything I can do to stop this happening everytime I check-in. He told me sorry it has to be done and can't change the policy.

I'm in the British military and often serve all around the world, including Afghanistan and Iraq! Maybe it's time airport security take another look at their policy!

Rant switch turned back to 'off'!
