I am trying to book an EasyJet flight from ORK to LGW at the end of October in preparation for our MCO trip. However when I fill in the details and click on "Search Flights" I get a message saying that the seats are on sale up till September 30. Is this normal? There is another month to go before the winter timetable kicks in and it seems strange to have sales only up to a month before then. [?]

I can get a Ryanair flight - in fact it is very cheap - 0.01c each and with taxes that makes a one-way trip of €13.98 for the two of us. [y] However with Ryanair's new baggage policy there will be an added €10.50 added on, more if it goes over 20kg (and given that we are bringing Aer John's golf clubs that is more than likely) [V] I'd like to see what EasyJet are offering before I commit myself to Michael O'Leary et al ;) and in any case the EasyJet times are far more convenient. My concern is that Ryanair are squeezing Easyjet out of ORK [V]

I've just had a look at their winter timetable but I can't read it well (http://www.easyjet.com/EN/planning/index.asp)

It looks like they are only flying on certain days if I'm reading it right.

But I recommend against booking on to Ryanair because they seem to not care about their customers, just making lots of money where they can.

Has anyone ever seen that Dispatches programme on Channel 4. After seeing that programme I've vowed to myself to never fly Ryanair, ever!

We are going to Venice in October, and my parents who I'm going with were just about to book on them from Liverpool to Venice-Treviso (wherever that is), and I intervened. Instead, we are flying with Jet2 from Leeds-Bradford to Venice Marco Polo (the main airport), and we saved £200! Ryanair the low fares airline my ar*e (sorry moderators I just felt like saying that[:#][:I]).

Oh yeah, have a good time in Florida I hope you enjoy it.

I'm actually flying BEFORE the winter timetable starts, which makes it all the more puzzling. [?]

With regard to Ryanair, I honestly haven't had a bad flight with them and I'm flying with them on Saturday. I regard them as a way to get from A to B, nothing more, nothing less. That way I'm not disappointed.

With regard to fares, you really do have to look around. Often legacy airlines come in cheaper than the low cost carriers, but people take the LCCs at face value and often don't search elsewhere. I find sometimes they're cheaper and sometimes they're not - and sometimes I don't have a choice because they're the only ones flying the route I need.
