Sleep suits - laundered?

How many times are the sleep suite used? The one I was given alst night had clealry been worm before and had a long hair inside when I opened the bag!

I had not given any thought to this before and assumed they were new each time.

No you are right, they are laundered I believe. A big hair inside[:$]. Gross.

I guess there is not a set life, but they keep on being laundered until someone decides they are end of life (or until a v-flyer pinches them[ii][:w]). I would assume they are then disposed of rather than being e-bayed.

I suppose not everyone;) relieves VS of its sleep suits[:I] so it would be a bit unsustainable to produce new each flight.

I guess the hair could have been from the staff that pack the sleepsuits ... otherwise it doesnt really bear thinking about.

I thought I had read on here they were re-cycled. I maybe wrong (but as you all know by now, that is unlikely ). What we need is a staffer to confirm one way or another.

Really? I kept mine! After paying the money for UC I felt like I desereved it..

Yuk, I am shocked.
If VS followed BAs route and made such a thin shoddy sleep suit there's no way it could be reused as they drop to bits after a couple of hours of wear.

I always keep mine I've got quite a few now of both new style and old [:w]

Leftover snoozesuits are laundered for re-use on subsequent flights. Upper Class amenity kits are collected and unused items are made into new kits. Headsets have new ear sponges fitted and are resealed in poly bags.

I think the word Leftover is the key here....
Implying they expect you to take them with you

Perhaps this will be part of the continuing onboard "improvements". Take your sleepsuit home with you, launder it, and use it next time you fly, becuase they'll know you have flown before and already have a sleep suit.

Well I'll certainly be looking closely at mine and checking it smells ok! Not sure I like wearing other folks clothes up close and personal!!;)

Actually that would be a good idea, there really could do with a better vacuming after each flight. There is always fluff and bits of food next to the grill belwo the window.

Not surprised they're laundered ... after all, if you check in to the St Regis do you seriously expect brand new sheets on the beds (unless you're grand enough to take a maid and your own)?

If I checked into a St Regis, I would consider it a bonus to get clean sheets, let alone new!

It's a good point actually. Wearing pre-worn clothes is something some people just cannot get their heads round. Others have no problem with it and get a complete bargain wardrobe from the local charity shop.

Ah ha - the next bean counter snip is already in motion - spread hairs in reused jimjams and the UC pax say that sleep suits are no longer required! Works a treat, what next ...

Mrs D says she's never having another sleep suit. Personally as has been pointed out I sleep in laundered linen in hotels and that's a lot more intimate... (possibly TMI by extrapolation but...)
