1 hour into the flight and your i-pod is dead? Dont worry because the A team is here.

Good news, as of late march customers travelling in Upper Class and selected Premium Economy seats will be able to borrow a i-pod charger tip compatible with in seat power supply.

there will only be 1 or 2 tips onboard so if someone else is using it or if you are sat in W then you may have to wait while others or J customers use them first.

but at least there is a hope when you are halfway through your favorite album andyou are not on a v-port system

That's great. I'm half afraid to use my iPod in case it dies and it doesn't seem to be holding the charge as much as it did. [:(]

It would be cool if they sold them in the Retail Therapy magazine so that you could use them again and again on each VS flight.

Maybe a more generic mini USB charger would be more useful to us non Ipod owners.

I'd only need it for three minutes to provide three hours of listening pleasure with my Sony NWE-507. :)

Then again, with a 70 hour battery life, maybe we should just let the Ipod owners use the chargers, they will need them more than us. :D

Cool - alternatively buy a Belkin iPod extra battery pack, or plug your PC into the power and charge it from the USB or Firewire port ... but good thing on Virgin.

Be interested in a poll of how many v-flyers have an iPod and how many do not?

Ah, but will there be any i-pods themselves to borrow, for those lesser mortals (include myself in this number) who don't possess one???? [:#]

Isn't that what V:Port is for? They usually have a reasonable CD collection on there (provided you ignore the quirky track time indicators).

You may be right - I do see talk of V:port and associated stuff, but have to admit that much of it goes over my head!;)

Fantastic! In fact, just before i go to bed can I give my iPod to a member of CC to charge it at some point through the flight so as to not hog the tip for other passengers, and still have a fully charged iPod for my onward flights?

Even so, thank you so much for this. It is the small things that make the world of difference

Perhaps, but not all flights have V:Port - I usually fly LHR-BOM and while is now has the UCS (for which I am very happy), it traditionally doesn't have V:Port.

Has anyone used this service to charge their ipod?
Does anyone know how long it takes to fully charge?
I've just been able to transfer movies onto my ipod and but when I replay them back it saps the battery and I would need to recharge after a few hours. I thought about taking this as a way of charging 1/2 way through the flight.

I have my own Empower to iPod lead, and it's reasonably quick, not much different to being on the regular Apple charger, from what I can tell.

Cheers,

I used one on my last flight and fell asleep listening to the new Chili Peppers Album, I woke up towards the end of the second disk and the pod was fully charged so that must have been about an hour from empty to full?
