Hi all

Just a quick question if you don't mind.

My wife had her first miles added to her account on August 1st, from the new Virgin Amex card. I still haven't received any miles, not even for what I spent on the card, never mind the bonus miles!
Who are the best people to talk to concerning this? If anyone knows, could you also point me in the right direction and provide a number to ring.

I'd try MBNA first on 0800 056 7686 and make sure you're FC number is registered and correct. Then the memebrs shop may be able to assist if all looks good so far, on 08456 10 2000

Glad I took your advice locutus, contacted MBNA and guess what, for some unknown reason the have wrong flying club number for me, how this happened no one knows. I used the automated service to change my card to the new AMEX, the same as my wife, so how this happened god knows.

Anyway, as I said I contacted MBNA, who told me it will take 5 days to get back to me with an answer on what's going on and how my numbers got mixed up, and told me to contact the members shop, so I contacted the members shop. They told me they would have to wait and see what the outcome was from MBNA, so I guess IÕll just have to wait. Just hoping I get all the miles that I'm owed in the end, including the bonus miles [:0]

How can something that seems so straight forward be so complicated [:?]

I delayed taking out the new card until just before I got back into the UK, so have carried on with my Mastercard until the new one arrived about a week ago.

Miles didn't appear on my August statement but were posted just a few days late and looked accurate. I checked with members shop about the cut off point on the Mastercard spend to be clear about which transactions had not yet been credited and they were very helpful - apparently July spend/August statement miles were done on a manual basis.

It's probably worth noting that Members shop will not be supporting miles queries on the new AMEX - this is now up to MBNA, hope that they can get up to speed on the terms of the account as well as Members shop staff were! There will be a transition period where Members Shop will deal with outstanding Mastercard issues, but they don't have access to the AMEX account details.
