I rang up to change my old VA card for the new Amex the 1st day I got my leaflet. Had the pin number a few weeks ago now and noticed my online banking had changed to reflect the new card, I've earnt my 5000 miles bonus but the new card still hasn't arrived.

Any idea how long they take to arrive?

Should be with you by now - give them a call!

You should certainly have had your new card by now. When you phone up to transfer the card over, the automated voice says allow 3 weeks for the new card to arrive. My Amex card arrived 3 weeks [to the day] later.

Just got of the phone with them. We had our pin numbers 3 weeks ago and on speaking to them just they told us the cards were sent on request only? Strange but they are sending them out now.

Sent on request. BS. I believe everyone else's came through without a request.

Why would you order a CC and then be expected to request it to be sent?? You've ordered it, so you want it sending, simple, its jsut an excuse to try and cover their mistake[n]

Oh yeah I know its an excuse, just didn't feel like arguing with the lad y given the difficulties with her accent if you know what I mean.

I said the same thing it didn't make sense to which the response was thats how they all were done.

Shrug of shoulders and "yes mam OK." [ii]

Andy, i think you need to speak to someone senior or another department as that is a bad muck-up. I certainly never had to request my card to be sent out.

The whole switchover seems to have been very badly handled by MBNA. To give them some credit, all of my miles to date from both cards have finally caught up to my account and i got my Black AmEx within a week of calling to switch over, but i seem to have been one of the lucky ones.

Are you calling the number on the letter from MBNA? If so you might have more joy calling the CS number instead?

Thanks,
Sarah

Sarah, thanks for the reply. Still haven't received the cards but are getting statements through, both me and my partner, but the miles are really heavily screwed on these.

Will ring them up next week and let you all know how we get on.

Thx.

For ages! and that's the truth - I've been waiting four weeks, so I called and they told me six weeks - even though my additional cardholders arrived 7 days after applying for it. Prob worth ringing them though. My online account has changed but I haven't received my bonus points yet - did it show on the online statement or the flying club one?
