Looking at the movements at Heathrow, the plane operating the service back from Dubai nearly always operates the next service to HKG/SYD. Is this the case? Can anyone shed light on this trend

I don't know for sure but i'd hazard a guess at the 401 is the last one in of the night and the 200 is the last one out so it'd make sense rather than give the 401 a tight turn around for another flight, which may end up causing delays or whatever and also not have an earlier inbound sit around taking up stands waiting to become the 200.

But of course i could be wrong!

As a general rule VS ops will want a/c to be on the ground for the shortest amount of time as possible- when they arent in the air they arent earning any money! Therefore yes its not surprising that the DXB plane then operates the HKG/SYD service. Of course once we have things like maintenece to put into the schedule etc it gets a bit complicated!
