******* iTunes [V]

As stated in another thread my hard drive has passed peacefully away and I am now using a laptop while awaiting to replace the hard drive. I loaded on iTunes, connected my iPod whereupon my playlist was populated but the next thing I know it has wiped everything off my iPod [:(!] There were no downloads and I can reload from my CDs but I don't really have time to do so [:(!]

OK guys, I'm bringing this up to the top again. At long last I have replaced the hard drive on my PC and have reloaded iTunes thereon. I now want to replace the library from the laptop back to the PC but can't see how to go about it. At least I have had the sense this time not to click on the Erase and Sync button but other than that....

Any advice will be gratefully received but please remember I'm a white-haired old lady, doddering on senility so please don't use big words I might not understand. [?]

Having lost all of the music from my iPod before now, the best bit of advice I can give is to turn OFF the automatic update/synchronise for your iPod - i.e. choose to manage your music collection manually. This stops it from deleting music from your iPod if it's gone from your PC. It does mean that you need to decide exactly which music you want to copy onto your iPod, but that's an easy thing to do...

HL, do you have your laptop and pc networked? if so the easy way is just to copy and paste, if not..you may want to network them.
