Singapore, Bangkok, Cambodia

Hi there

I'm in the process of working out a trip to SE Asia. I have quite a few miles free so am going to finally try SQ first (miles is the only way I'll ever be able to afford it)
Thought about using SQ (which I've been to before) as a base for seeing some of the area.
I fancy Bangkok as thats a new one, and Cambodia/Angkor Wat, and possibly back to KUL if time provides...

Just wanted any suggestions of must do's or dont's, hotel / restaurant recommendations etc.
I'm a great beliver of my Time Out guides, but they don't cover Cambodia for one..

p.s - and interesting aside. Was initially going to fly into NRT then down to BKK and SIN and back home. Been told by FC that whilst they can book one way miles flights on partner airlines, you will be charged the return amount. 180k for one way SQ F is too much, might aswell make the most of it and go return [y]

BKK,
We always stay at the Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa on the ricer. Free water taxi to Sapan Taxin for the Sky Train and access to the city and nice as you are out of the hustle and bustle. There isa great Laundry round the corner and the staff by the pool are the best you will find!

We're going to Bangkok in September. We're trying the Intercontinental in one of their club rooms. Will let you know what it's like on our return.

I'm also looking at next year, and again sticking with the Intercontinental, I am toying with the idea of a couple of nights in the Singapore one and a week in the Bali IC. Any on what they're like if you've been to Sing.

I can recommend the Peninsula in BKK they sometimes have very good package rates to inc breakfast, mini bar drinks and round trip airport transfers.The deluxe suites are the rooms to go for, quite simply stunning.

Last couple of times in SIN we have stayed at the Shangri-La's Valley Wing very good but I do miss the Latour restaurant.

SINGAPORE
Another vote for the Valley Wing at the Shangri-la. Otherwise The Oriental, now that it has been renovated. The Fullerton is also worth a look.

BANGKOK
For a river location I like the Peninsula, or on the otherside the Shangri-la, especially the Krungthep Wing. For a central location the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit should fit the bill both in comfort and price. But my favourite lodging place in Bangkok is The Emporium Suites. Directly linked to the BTS and adjoining one of the most upmarket shopping centres in BKK.

CAMBODIA
Sorry, but still an unknown area to me......perhaps one day?
