I dont think so as you can only pre-select seats when you check-in online or use the machines at the airport with BA.

I could be wrong though, as it could be like BD where it depends on what fare you are travelling. Higher fares allow seat pre-selection (only once during the booking process though) and lowest web fares dont until self-service check-in.

Yes if you have your ba exec login details and locator you can log in and pre book seats i tihnk at least with 24 hours notcie.

i think if you arent an exec member as long as you have your locator you can do it as well.

I've never been able to pre-book seats on domestic BA flights until check-in. I dont use BA for anything else though.

I can confirm that this is correct having done it a few days ago. Not sure what happens if you are not an exec member, but then it only takes a few seconds to join if that turned out to be a problem.

Thanks all. Just dug a bit deeper on the BA website and apparently on long haul flights all classes can 'request' seats, although some - such as bulkhead rows - may be blocked until check-in, blah blah, so more or less the same as VS, I guess.

I've managed to book seats on European routes but not on domestic I wouldn't know about long haul as I don't use them as I must collect Flying club points to keep me turning left!;)

I've never had any problems and my future bookings have seats pre-assigned.

There are some routes where you can't pre-assign seats from day 1, these include all Euro Traveller flights and Club Europe on some routes such as JER, CDG and DUB.

On all other flights including longhaul BA have a pre-allocating limit, once this is reached then you wait until the bunfight at OLCI...

First - 100%
Club World - 60%
World Traveller - 30%

(Don't know about WT+)

Strange, I fly LGW - Glasgow regularly and always use the request a seat facility on ba.com. Got flights on 8th Sept (pleasure not business this time!) and we can see/change our seats on the seat map. I've been moving us as far forward as poss ove the last few weeks :)

and Club Europe on some routes such as JER, CDG and DUB.

I have done a couple of LHR-CDGs this year and have been able to pre book the seats, got row 1 on the last flights in Feb.I booked last minute to IAD a couple of months ago in WT+ and all the allocation had gone. That is the only flight I have not been able to prebook seats in thew last 26 months since starting to use BA again.
