Not sure it is published anywhere, but someone may be able to correct me. If you have a skim through the travel reports on this site for UC on your route you may well find that people have posted the choices and their opinions/recommendations.

i can not eat anything with garlic in and that sounds like it is loaded with it , even if there is not i would not eat any of it

The lamb shank (a separate dish to the chicken curry I think;)) is very good, and certainly not cattle
. Quite a British dish, although not chicken and chips in a basket of course.

Er Jeremy, the lamb shank was on the last menu. They've gone all Mediterranean since.

Depends when he flew in September as that was when the menu changed - around the 19th I think
We flew LGW-MCO-MAN this week and the menu is absolutely appalling. Both times we struggled to find anything decent to eat. We were both offered miles as compensation as the crew could completely understand where we were coming from. To offer some themed food is good, but to theme the entire menu is outrageous. I'm not particualry fond of this quarters theming at all.
Way home was not much better, no 'lighter bites' at all. Alright if you are EGG as there was lamb but I don't like lamb. In my opinion there should be:
1 red meat dish
1 white meat dish
1 fish dish
1 vegetarian dish
We ended up asking what food was available in Y/W instead. The crews were really good about it but big shame on the catering department.
Worse thing is that on the outbound, I was all looking forward to afternoon tea and the scones and little cakes had gone; that is like an institution in its own right. The FSM did laugh when I asked if I was actually flying Iberia business class.
To not offer lighter bites on the return MCO sector is a joke, especially when the lounge doesn't offer proper food. Very disappointed.
I have pictures of the return menu somewhere if you'd like to see them.

I was really looking forward to my MAN-MCO-MAN trip until I read Richard's post above - does look like VS have cocked up with this themed menu. Surly the missing afternoon tea is not another case of the bean counters at work (i.e. there was a themed afternoon tea offering)?

From my recent trip, the ex-US menu on VS20 was a lot more palatable than the outbound "Med" menu on the VS19, and the light bites were okay (I subbed the goat cheese in as an appetizer), but again it was trying to reheat crispy (usually fried) things in an oven which doesn't always work.
The ex-UK "Med" menu is pretty nasty, IMHO.
To contrast, the main dish I had on Saturday on UA, LHR-ORD, was great. Pan cooked salmon with a turmeric seasoning, served with mushroom rice, and veggies. Nicely seasoned, perfectly cooked, generous portions (for plane food), and full of flavour. The starters and desserts were less imaginitive (Salad & parma ham to start, ice cream or cheese to follow). If only VS could serve main dishes of the same standard as UA, I'd be a much happier VS punter.

No scones, no little cakes. It was some silly little apricot pastry thing. Taking away the cakes is one thing, but the scones. That's like trying to take the Corgi's from the Queen.
Sure it was the 'Afternoon Tea' aspect of the service, but no afternoon tea is afternoon tea in my book without scones. Gutted was an understatement.
The interesting thing is that all East Coast flights used to share the same menu, but MCO has been spun off to its own offering now without the lighter bites. For point of reference to the good old times, I pulle dout a selection of menus from 2001-02 and was licking my lips in delight at the offerings, back then there was more choice. Too much time nowadays spent in regards to the wine and cheese selection, which takes the majority of the menu to detail, and even then they are substandard in comparison to BA.
Really strange though, was that on outbound one of the other J passengers had ordered a SPML, and boy did it look good. Some nice chicken dish with rice. Both me and Sarah looked on with envy.

Now I'm gutted, the apricot pastry thing sounds disgusting - if it's one thing I look forward to it's the scones, never did bother with the little cakes as I always found them too sweet.
I think I might just have to visit M&S the day before and carry my own on board.

With regard to the special meals - am I right in thinking that a UC special meal is just a re-plated Y offering? If so, it may be worth risking the "Med" menu.

The info on this latest menu is distressing to me. I finally get to fly UC, and the menu is no better than this? C'mon, somebody better call Mr. Branson's attention to this before everyone jumps ship and heads over to BA! Look, I know we all get to go to the clubhouse and fill up there but what has become of decent food while in flight?

Sadly and infuriatingly unfairly people from MAN don't get the option of decent food before flight, I am very dissapointed with the apparent trend of indifference to UC pax from VA management.
Will see how my next flight goes and then consider just cashing in my miles for one more trip and then moving to the dark side untill the VA numties wake up and smell the coffee.

Reading this got me looking at the food we had last August LHR-MCO,the food on the outbound was excellent but dire on the way home,the cream tea was still alive and kicking,much better than the current BA offering in CW. Sarnies still in their packaging and clotted cream in a platic tub,but then again this is better than an apricot slice

A chap on our outbound had a SPML and it looked fab. For someone with a plainer palate like myself it was perfect - chicken, rice and some veg. I am guessing it was a low fat or low sodium meal? I would have much preferred that over the Med menu - If i hadn't eaten in the CH i think I'd have fought him for it!

I have to ( sadly ) agree with other posters that the new menu is dire. Will post my trip reports later today from VS025 LHR-JFK when I finish work later, but here's the section on food.....
"I ordered the Minestrone di verdure soup and within the hour the table was laid and the soup presented. The soup was ok but nothing more, and was rather watery. Breads came round which were good and after a first glass of Chardonnay ( yuck ) I moved onto a ( I think ) Bulgarian Pinot Grigio which was better but not something I'd choose to buy myself. As the soup bowl was taken away I was asked by the same crew member if I'd like anything else. Perusing the menu I asked whether I could have the steak, and the response was "As I *told* you earlier, you'd need to order early on as we run out quickly". My 2nd choice was the couscous, and the response was again "As I *told* you earlier, you really need to order early on" which I now interpret to be "You must order when we ask you to." ...... So instead I ordered the Mediterranean Plate, which was brought promptly and consisted of houmous with herb / parsley, 2 pieces of falafel and a piece of pitta bread. I say 'piece' but 'thumbnail' would probably be more appropriate, it being the smallest piece of bread I've ever seen. The houmous was nice but not enough bread, and the falafel was dry and tasteless."
