I can't find a post on which this has already been covered, but on the VS Special Offers website page (here), the 4th item down shows this:
USA UPPER CLASS SALE

Start with our fabulous Clubhouse followed by our revolutionary Upper Class Suite with the biggest fully flat bed in business class.

Upper Class fares from £1,300

Sadly, the URL assigned to the link simply takes you back to the special offers index page - not helpful!

Does anyone know if there is a sale already going on, or if this is coming up?

Thanks in advance

David

Hi DavidM,

Thanks for the post.

I have just tried the link also but it does not work

However some of the destinations are on sale now in the system.
I tried for prices over the New Year Period and these are;

NYC £1300
IAD£1300
SFO£1500
LAX £1500
( prices varying according to departure /return dates)
Regards

Working through a few dates to SFO the special offers seem to start on 16 Dec and finish on 11 Jan - they also require a stay on a Saturday night. BOS is also at £1300, but there are no special for MIA or LAS by the look of it

With 10 TPs needed for Au renewal before the end of Jan, I feel distinctly tempted.

Best wishes

David

There are some very good deals available, if I hadn't confirmed my Christmas booking I could have saved a few hundred quid! [:#]

Bad news Bazz[:#][:#]

On the other hand, I am very glad that Mrs Buns' boss has yet to approve her holiday break request[}:)][}:)]

David - I owe you a beer [y]

Just cancelled my VH booking (that was due on 31-Oct). While I lost my £120 deposit, I'm still saving over £750 for my Post-Christmas SFO trip. [:0][^]

Paul - I'll share it with TBS, who found where the fares were hiding in the schedule. Always glad to be of service!

Best wishes

Wow - a piece of advice for everyone:

If you're considering this sale, book SOON. I just checked the same dates that I booked last night for £1,6 and they're now £2,6!

Seems there's limited Z availability at those fares, and looks like I grabbed the last Z/Z one on the dates I needed... [:0]

Looks like playing the '£120 before 56 days' game with VH to "hold" a Z worked this time. [:w]

Mine are "NONEND NONREF NO CHANGES" after tickets are issued and I got them about a week before VAA launched the offer. Savings would have been £600 and 20K miles (upgade on outbound leg) plus I would have earned miles and TPs too! What a bugger!

Right, I've done a bit more digging.

The sale Upper Class fares are booked into either ZLXMEG or ZLWMEG. A "standard" Z (ZLAP) is 42 day advance purchase. These MEG fares are only 21 [y]

On the SFO route, they're £1,000 less than the ZLAP, with the following book by/travel dates:
Travel: 16DEC06-14JAN07
Ticket Issued by: 30NOV06
DAY/TIME: APPLIES AT ANY TIME MON-THU for ZLXMEG
DAY/TIME: APPLIES AT ANY TIME FRI-SUN for ZLWMEG (+£15)
Must stay Saturday night.

On the NYC route, they're just over £800 less than the ZLAP:
Travel: 16DEC06-14JAN07
Ticket Issued by: 30NOV06
DAY/TIME: APPLIES AT ANY TIME MON-THU for ZLXMEG
DAY/TIME: APPLIES AT ANY TIME FRI-SUN for ZLWMEG (+£15)
Must stay Saturday night.

We travel mid-week out, but Friday back, and all in ZLWMEG (paying an additional £15 over an ZLXMEG)

Hi

Sorry to hijack this thread but I didn't want to start a new one just to ask this question.

Are there set times of the year when VA have sales?? I want to go to SFO on the 1st Sept and currently looking at £346 on a Y miles plus money fare. Wasn't sure whether to hang back just incase there is a sale later on in the year.

Plus, I've never travelled to SFO in Sept, (I am a B&S gal to Orlando in June)so really not sure what would be a good price or not. Any thoughts/comments???

There are some more routes pre-loaded into the back end that aren't being advertised yet:

NRT: 5 Dec to 31st Jan - £1500+tax
PVG: 1 Dec to 31st Jan - £1460+tax

Thanks,
Richard

Tried for a HKG today - nearly £4K - as opposed to the £1350 with BA Club if we go via LIN.

A HKG/SYD would be nice. Need to get to NZ before Christmas.
