Retained BA silver but did not earn enough TP's

Just sitting here scratching my head wondering how I appear to have retained silver on BA!

I was up to 540 TP's (needing 600 to retain silver) but, not doing as much Scottish work travel as normal, had resigned myself to losing silver on my Membership End date of 08/10/06.

Have just logged on to ba.com to book flights for ABZ next week and they're quoting me as still being on Silver with a membership end date of 08/10/07. My statement clearly shows the Points Reset point being 08/10/06 and 540 points being deducted to create a zero balance.

Last year BA comp'd all silver (and I guess gold) members a free year's status owing due to the LHR catering hassles, but they emailed everyone saying this. I haven't received anything this year advising me that I've retained silver even though I fell short of the required threshold. Does anyone know of any specials being handed out by BA this year? Must admit I find BA silver useful when travelling on cheapo personal tickets as you get access to lounge

I have been made up to Gold twice and Silver once on BA despite not having quite enough points, athough I have usually managed to do it under my own steam.

I'd also wait until the period noted on your Exec card really does end - I thought I'd somehow retained Gold last year. My deductions happened around 8th Novemeber, but my Gold card was valid until the end of December.

Sure enough I showed Gold, right up until 31 Dec when I dropped to Silver. I guess I'm flying VS and EK too much these days!
